Research

The research interests at TTD concentrate on experimental and theoretical-analytical investigations of complex heat and mass transfer processes as well as the analysis of energy systems.

Our expertise reaches from the description of nano- and micro-scale transport phenomena to macro-scale and engineering applications Our institute is structured into three research groups. Furthermore, we actively participate in the following collaborative research projects and profile areas of the TU Darmstadt.

Research groups and projects

Dr. Frank Dammel

We model thermal energy systems, determine energy flows and derive exergy balances. Exergies can be connected to costs in order to conduct an economic evaluation.
