Film evaporation is of considerable importance both in scientific research and in industrial sectors. In this context, the Marangoni effect, which is caused by variations in surface tension, plays a decisive role in shaping the behaviour of the liquid film during evaporation and significantly influences its dynamics and properties.

This effect becomes more complex when the liquid-gas interface is manipulated with perturbed waves. In addition, the influence of the buoyancy force is remarkable, especially with respect to the waves at the interface and their propagation and damping. Analytical investigations provide valuable insights for the validation of CFD numerical simulations already implemented in COMSOL. The aim of this work is to derive a robust analytical equation using MATLAB and to evaluate to what extent the induced instability affects the system.
