At the International Space Summit at the Grand Palais in Paris, Axel Sielaff met ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano – the man who installed the Multiscale Boiling Experiment on the ISS in 2019.

At MIT, Luca Brandler presented TTD's work on boiling water in microgravity – a contribution to the search for alternatives to fluorinated working fluids.

The DFG has approved the new Collaborative Research Centre “Functional Papers” at TU Darmstadt — the TTD is involved with its own sub-project.

With a keynote lecture and an additional contribution, the TTD was prominently represented at this year's European Two-Phase Flow Group Meeting in Pisa.

The Institute of Technical Thermodynamics was represented at this year’s DECHEMA/VDI annual meeting in Lucerne with an oral presentation by Robin Behle on thermocapillary-driven deformation of evaporating liquid films as well as poster contributions by Luca Brandler and by Lorenzo Vianello and Amir Khazayialiabad.

In our new study, we have systematically investigated the interface deformation of evaporating HFE liquid films on sinusoidally structured copper walls, comparing our experimental findings with an analytical model.

Jasper Müller from the Institute of Technical Thermodynamics presented his work at the symposium “Future District – Energy Systems in Existing Buildings” and delivered an outstanding contribution.
