We are looking for a student assistant to help us extend an existing model for evaporation and internal convection to include a possible influence of gravity.
The study of fluid dynamics within an evaporating droplet containing small particles holds significant significance in various practical applications. Numerous research endeavors have been undertaken to examine the behavior of droplets placed on surfaces with different hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties. In recent times, meticulous investigations have been conducted employing superhydrophobic substrates. As a result, the evaporation characteristics and internal convection phenomena under various scenarios have been successfully modeled using the COMSOL Multiphysics software. However, a crucial aspect that remains unexplored is the potential influence of gravity on the obtained results.
