TTD goes to ILL
TTD researchers spend one week at neutron facility in France investigating structure of interfacial layers of superspreading films

Seforah Silva and Prof. Tatiana Gambaryan-Roisman had the chance to go to the Institute Laue-Langevin (ILL) in France to investigate interfacial layers of superspreading films using neutron reflectometry. The beam-time proposal was written and submitted in partnership with researchers from the Institute for Condensed Matter Physics (TU Darmstadt) and the Department for Interfacial Technology (Evonik Operations GmbH) and was considered a highlight among the proposals submitted for use of the same instrument. The experiment is part of the work of Seforah Silva, who studies the deposition of nanoparticles after spreading and evaporation of nanofluids.
